Pediatric care isn't a smaller version of adult care. The goals are different, the communication is triangulated between clinician and parent and child, and the home environment is the most important room in the building.
Yet most HEP and RTM software is built for adult orthopedics — long single-patient programs where the patient owns their own carryover. Pediatric clinicians spend hours adapting that software around the edges, juggling paper handouts, lost text-message updates, and clunky CSV exports.
The pediatric clinicians we spoke with kept telling us the same story: RTM reimbursement leaking out of their practices because the audit trail wasn't there. Parents quietly disengaging because the app asked too much. Clinicians staying late, building HEPs by hand.
